COMMENTS
These are new, never used, very heavy-duty, roughing grinding wheels for the foundry and welding industries. Use for rapid removal of hard material such as steel and SS castings etc. Of course they can be used for general use also.
The hubs heavy steel-core can be re-threaded to right-hand, or use on all similar industrial threaded angle grinders, straight grinders or even the left end of a bench-type grinder, as is, or buy a whole bunch from us, reverse the direction of a portable grinders, with lock screw threaded into it. This was perhaps done to make the wheels less ‘thievable’, a common worry in labor intensive industries.
These were surplus from Canadian Steel Foundry, one of the largest foundries in the world (up to 4000 men). This foundry could produce up to 200 tons of stainless in a single pour… (sadly closed though profitable, by its Acheson, its US parent company!).
The turbine impellers for China’s 3-Gorges, largest dam in the world were made here, and thousands of this type of H.D. grinding wheels would have been used.
